I regularly watch Anthony Anderson playing the role of Kevin Bernard, a junior detective, in TV show ‘Law and Order‘. The distinctive feature of this character’s nature can be judged from his disliking of dogs. He is shown a practicing Catholic but does not have faith in the Rapture. Unwillingly but has joined IA and work for them. This fictional character is quite attention-grabbing.

NBC, the US Network, has decided to put back The Listener, the Canadian Co-production, with the reruns of Law & Order TV series for the rest of the summer.   As per the statements of the NBC representatives, The Listener failed to get a good response from the viewers and received very low ratings. Ultimately, the NBC Network decides not to continue with it and canceled it. The time-slot, 10 P.M, is assigned to Law & Order for the reruns of the series which would start from July 30.

The Listener, one hour drama, stars Craig Olejnik and the storylines revolves around a paramedic who can hear what people are thinking gets off air only because of the poor performance.   Though NBC network has decided not to give more life to The Listener, Canadian broadcaster CTV and affiliate Space will continue to air The Listener. The NBC network has also made it public that it would bring the unaired episodes of the series via streaming. The news is heartbreaking for the fans who were enjoying The Listener episodes on NBC network but is a good one for the ones who love aw & Order episodes.

Running for twenty seasons (hopefully, several other seasons would be in the row) is extraordinary in itself. Yeah, here, I am talking about ‘Law & Order‘, the always stylish and trendy series. Why trendy? Hey, very simple guys, only the show with variety of events and characters can run on the same network for as long time as twenty years. Its long run means that the show has something to tie the visitors and make its place in the hearts of people. It’s pretty obvious that shows with good ratings run for long time therefore the viewers are the fate-determiners.

And, to have good ratings, the show must rule over fans’ hearts. Being a fan of Law & Order, I can say proudly that Law & order has such caliber. Shot in New York City, Law & Order is best known for it use of the local color. In the recently aired seasons of the show, several well known figures of the city made their appearance.   I’d like to mention the names here- New York City mayors Rudy Giuliani and Michael Bloomberg, attorney William Kunstler and Bronx Congressman José Serrano. All these were seen portraying themselves on the show. Moreover, some local personalities have had returning cameos as the fictional characters. For example, Donna Hanover and Fran Lebowitz appeared as the judges on the show. It’d be worth mentioning that New York City has also paid the show its due. The uncertainty has faded away and the twentieth season of the popular NBC series, Law and Order, has been confirmed by the network. Returning with the twentieth season would be a gigantic achievement for Law & Order. Among the earliest series, ‘Gunsmoke’ was the only one that had aired for twenty successful seasons. And for any show, to become one of the elite few series in TV history, to have reached the milestone of twenty seasons, is in no way a minor achievement. With only one more season to go before Law and Order would be sharing the title, fans are surely jubilant about the success of their favorite show.

As per the latest news, 16 episodes have been announced for the 20^th season of Law & Order. Hopefully, the number of total episodes would be changed, but no confirmation about the same has been made as yet. Being very mum, the network didn’t reveal the premiere details of the twentieth season. It’s also being kept hidden, if there would be any changes in the star cast of the show or it’d return with the same stars.

Among the current star cast of the series are- Jeremy Sisto as Det. Cyrus Lupo, Anthony Anderson as Det. Kevin Bernard, Sam Waterston as D.A. Jack McCoy, S. Epatha Merkerson as Lt. The ‘Lost Boys‘ took inspiration from the controversies which surrounded the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. ‘Falling‘ was driven from the March 2008 Manhattan Construction crane collapse. The New York Times report on untrained judges paved the way for the next episode entitled ‘Knock Off’. ‘Sweetie‘ was inspired by the JT LeRoy literary hoax. The episode entitled ‘Chattel‘ was inspired from the case involving Marie and Willie Pompee. The episode entitled ‘By Perjury‘ was partially based on ValuJet Flight 592 crash. And, you know what ‘Lucky Stiff’ was the first episode on which Sam Waterston didn’t make appearance since the premiere of the series. Caylee Anthony homicide was what, to some extent, inspired Crimebusters’. Global financial crisis of 2008-09 inspired the episode entitled ‘Bailout’. The above mentioned ones were the major incidents which inspired the episodes of ‘Law & Order’ TV show.

Yeah, the very popular American drama series, Law & Order tv show, is all set to rock on the British TV world as series has found its way on the ITV1 network. The UK version of this awesome drama was premiered on February 23, 2009. The original Law & Order series has been ruling the NBC Network since its premiere, September 13, 1990, and it always has been a big hit. After receiving very high ratings in US, it has now decided to move towards UK. Law & Order is known for most consecutive nominations for a drama series totaling to eleven.

The basic premise, running of the criminal justice system by two groups, police and the crown prosecution service, would remain the same, not caring that the series has crossed Atlantic. Bradley Walsh, Jamie Bamber and Harriet Walter would serve as the cops to keep things in order elsewhere Ben Daniels, Freema Agyeman and Bill Paterson would bring the criminals to justice. Among the guest appearances would be Dervla Kirwan, Frances Barber, Kevin McNally, Iain Glen, Lesley Manville, Colin Salmon and Sean Pertwee.

Once again, following the trend set by the American Law & Order, all episodes of the British version would be self contained. Series opener showed how an evacuation of a London Hospital led the way to the discovery of a tragic death. The brains behind the UK version would surely try their best to continue with the success achieved by the American drama version. Words of Chris Chibnall, the lead writer of the British Show, “We are vigilant about being faithful to the Law & Order format, while also making sure that it feels fresh, modern and British as well”.

With so many series going off the air after a season or two, it’s amazing to see a legal drama which has endured for so long. Law & Order is finally back with 19^th season. Awesome! Isn’t it? And the longest running show brings back Sam Waterston as Jack McCoy. He has been with the show for so long that it’s impossible to fathom Law & Order without Jack McCoy. He himself is amazed that the show has lasted so long as he was considering only a short stint when he joined it The 68 year old actor signs one year contract with Law & Order every season that concludes successfully. He explains, “Its part of the reason why I’m here so long. They have made a long leash and allowed me to sign up year after year after year.  I never felt imprisoned here.  I’ve always felt free to stay.  Free to go.”

Well said Waterston! The easiest way to lose something or some one is to cling to it. He made some interesting observations about the character he has been playing in an interview that I read on BuddyTV. He observed that the character has been long established and the challenge lies in keeping him consistent rather than developing him. It’s as much a writer’s job as his and he has repeatedly proved himself capable of meeting all challenges.

I personally believe that changing cast has its own advantages because when a series lasts so long as this one has you can’t watch it continuously. So, you go your merry way but if you return to it after a few years you find a different cast but everything else working exactly the same way. It may discourage some audience but then it also attracts new viewers to tune in.

For sure, I am talking about your favorite Senior Detective Ed Green, yes it’s Jesse L. Martin. He left the series due to his filming schedule for movie “Rent”. Till then his fans were looking for him where is he, other than the shooting venues. So guys! Here is good news for you. He is coming back to silver screen with “The Philanthropist”.

This is the series based upon the life of a man named Teddy Rist, portrayed by James Purefoy. He’s a goody goody billionaire, who uses his powers, assets and contacts to help the needy ones around the world. Martin is gonna play Philip Maidstone, his business partner and lifelong friend. Cool. This is totally a different role than his work in “Law and Order’.

My heart is now throbbing to speak out and I can’t help it. Whatever his other career projects are, but he shouldn’t leave Law and Order kind of prestigious series. After all it’s a golden star of his career. On the other hand how can he do this to his fans? I want him back in his old form. But alas! This is not possible now. As in season fifteen, writers made him die on duty.

For me he was the coolest cop during those seasons. In fact, I like every that character who adopts unorthodox ways of working and boldly. Ed’s character is like this only. He never cares about what others think about his way of working. He just knows how to complete a task in hand and he will do it on any cost. Even if it’s his life, like he died a brave death in season fifteen.

This is a great show, and this is sad that it ended up in the very beginning of the show and Nineteenth season is taking so much of time in hitting the screen again. Well I suppose now the new season will be spicier, with the new cast and innovative ideas.

Believe it or not, the show is again coming up with its nineteenth season. After this, I suppose, Dick Wolf’s dream of making it the longest running TV series will come true. Other than a few animes, I am not aware of any such show, which would have run this far. Not in police drama category at least. Now no space is left for some more words in its praise, when it has already seen eighteen successful seasons. This is not all, the series has brought one more sister series title “Law and Order- SVU”.

Undoubtedly the series has a great and loyal fan following and this is the reason that series survived this long and is still ready to move on. After this series, many police dramas came and gone, but nobody could set this high standard of success.

I just love to watch police dramas and this one is the fabulous. I like the suspense factor in this series. Every episode carries a major chunk of that and steadily the viewer too starts unveiling the curtains. This is the thing which keeps you bound with the series and wakes up the sleeping corners of your mind. For sure I am not kidding. Mind does need some exercise and this is the very interesting way to release the horses of your thoughts.

The second thing I like about the show is the continuous fluctuation in cast. Somebody dies and the new and young detective is appointed. It creates a sensation in the department and off course among the criminals. When the new cop is in, along with the rumors of being strict, then how a criminal can sleep in peace? Well this is the spice of these detective dramas. You watch every side of the scene and observe from everybody’s point of view. You are aware, what cops are doing and also what the criminal is planning, but still you too don’t know until the end, who the real culprit is. This is the magic which a few master minds can create, and Dick wolf is really the one.

Law and Order is becoming more and more interesting as many stars are continuously hitting Law and Order sets. Now three more names have been added to the list. First is Luke Perry, second name is Sara Gilbert and the third name is Julie Bowen. All the three will be added for a new case in the Law and Order-special victims unit. Luke Perry will play accused father and Julie Bowen will play accused mother. Both the parents are held accused of abusing the foster child. Sara Gilbert plays biological mother of that child.

Trio will be the part of a new episode of Law and order series and the whole episode will revolve around them only. Perry is known for his role in Beverly Hills, as Dylan Mackay. Sarah has played guest roles before this also, in ‘ER’. ‘Will and Grace’ and ‘24′. This role will be easier for Julie Bowen as she has just joined the cast of Boston Legal also as Attorney Denise Bauer. She will get almost similar environment over here. The filming of episode has been done in New York City.

Besides these trios, this season, Michaela McManus will also appear in the premier episode. She will play Team’s assistant district attorney Diane Neal. In the new episodes we will get answers about detective Fin whether he gets transferred or not.

Now the show is gonna be more interesting and happening, as I have heard rumors that lot many new happenings will rock the show and there will be lot many issues to solve and to be highlighted.

But this particular episode of Perry seems like a soft story and not a very hard-core criminal case. So let’s see how it works for us. The show is coming back on September 23 so a long wait is ahead yet for this particular episode. Till then I am passing my time in watching previous seasons from here. You know this month I started watching Law and Order from the beginning. Moreover I am waiting for Emmy results too as Law and Order has also bagged so many nominations.

Hey guys do you remember the guy, Jeff Goldblum? ‘The Jurassic park’ man and we have also seen him in ‘The lost World’ and ‘The Independence Day’. The excellent film actor is now coming into a Cop’s uniform in Law and Order. Well I am a keen fan of the show so I am excited with the news. He is definitely going to add something wonderful to the show. Everybody from the cast has the similar views about the guy and obviously everybody is appraising the Chief Dick Wolf’s choice for the role.

This is time to say bye to Mr. Chris Noth (Detective Mike Logan), as Goldblum will be replacing him. Noth was playing in the original NBC series from 1990 to 95. I love this cop’s drama series. I have watched regularly each and every episode of this. The show really enhanced my knowledge about the rules and regulations. It is visible in the show that how difficult it is to maintain law and order in a city like New York.

I like the drama included in the discussions and debates about the specific cases. Each episode includes the updates about different cases and in a very interesting way. It seems like we are keeping a track record of the real life criminal cases. It really bounds the viewer with the show for a longer period. Your curiosity doesn’t let you miss the episode and even you think about the show when you are not watching it.

This is impact of a good drama. I am basically a logic seeker and this show provides me the same. I don’t like those kinds of show which just forcibly dramatize the situation and stretch it by giving long pauses into the scenes like somebody is walking through a long corridor and when he reaches into the room then a little conversation and the episode is over. I like just bang-bang kind of scenes with to the point dialogues and all that I get into’ Law and Order’.

Law & Order is very successfully running with season 18 and the previous 17 seasons are defining its huge success. Innumerous TV shows are there, I think the no. is countless, but what makes you a great fan of a particular series??

It may be your field of interest, your taste, your way of thinking and lot of reasons are there .. each person is having its own reason so it’d be tough to define the criteria. But, I can assure you one thing that series with more relevance with real life and scenario are often successful. Same thing is here with Law & Order episodes.

Series deals with law and attorneys so makes you aware about the laws and rules etc. I’d like to confess here, that I was a rule-broker earlier, and obeying rules and laws was a tough job for me (Although, I paid fine for several times for that stupidity).

It was Law & Order which let me to know the importance of Law in our daily lives and form the series I learned what Law is and why obeying law is our main duty. Now, I am a good American citizen. Thanks Law & Order!!!

Initially (when I started writing this post), I was in mood to write about previous episodes aired from series during this month. But, I don’t know when my fingers moved towards series plot and importance.

Burn Card is another well rated Law & Order episode which was aired on 4-23-2008. I do like this episode and that’s why I’m here to write a review on this episode:

On this episode, a past-time referee is found murdered and two detectives Ed Green and Cyrus Lupo are investigating the victim’s gambling habits. The detectives are led to notorious hustler, “Bunny”, a familiar face from Detective Green’s past. Bunny is found dead and detective Lupo is called to the scene.

He discovers his partner, Detective Green, who’s a shooter. This guy is causing confusion and disbelief in the department in DA’s office. Finally, the case is given to Detective Kevin Bernard and Sergeant Gregory Cole which leaves Detective Green to face his dark past. Watch the further action here.
