George Dzundza was born on 19 July 1945 in Rosenheim, Germany. He is the son of a Ukrainian father and a Polish mother. His parents were made to work as factory labors, by the Nazis. He lived with his parents and one brother, for the first few years of his life, in a displaced persons camp. His family then moved to Amsterdam and then to America. He has learnt the speech and theatre arts from St. John’s University.
He has acted in various films and television shows. He appeared in ‘The Beast’ as “Commander Daskal” and in ‘Law and Order’ as “Max Greevey“. He has also made his appearances in ‘Jesse‘, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and in one episode of ‘Stargate: SG-1′. He has voiced for ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ and ‘Superman: The Animated Series’ and has also appeared in some minor roles in both the series.
He appeared in films like ‘The Deer Hunter‘, ‘Basic Instinct’, ‘Crimson Tide’, ‘Dangerous Minds’, etc. He has also acted in ‘Adam and Eve’, ‘Species II’, ‘Impulse‘, ‘Cross of Fire’, ‘No Mercy’, ‘The Execution of Raymond Graham’, ‘A Long Way Home’, ‘Salem’s Lot’, ‘Act of Passion- The Lost Honor of Kathryn Beck’, etc.
He won the Best Actor Award at the Venice Film Festival in 1983 for his role in ‘Streamers‘.

George Dzundza is playing the role of “Max Greevey” in ‘Law and Order’ tv show. He works as a homicide detective for the Manhattan’s 27th Precinct. He was promoted to Sergeant and became a partner of Mike Logan. He shares a close relationship with Mike Logan, yet he sometimes has a conflict of thoughts with him. For example, when they were to investigate the bombing of family planning clinic, George felt uncomfortable with the investigation because he dislikes abortion and it seems as if he is in favor of the bombing of this site, which leads to conflict between both of them. He is married to Marie and they have three children.
